A CT Scanner is an X-ray device that produces incredibly detailed 3D colour images of your head, teeth, jawbone and facial muscles.
CT scans allow us to plan for complex procedures such a dental implant treatment with precision and accuracy. This should not be confused with an MRI Scan which is generally used for diagnosing other problems.
In certain cases we would recommend a CT scan of the jaw(s) prior to commencing your implant treatment. The life-sized 3-dimensional picture of all regions of your jaw that are taken aids us in the placement of your implant and helps avoid important anatomical structures.
We have our own CT scanner so there is no wait for us to provide this important imagery.
